Salary:

Overview
The 310T Technician is responsible for repairing, overhauling, maintaining, and servicing vehicles, heavy trucks, and automotive units. They are also responsible for ensuring that all activities are completed in a safe and efficient way. Ultimately, a top-notch 310T Technician has a solid understanding of truck mechanics.

Responsibilities

  • Repairs, overhauls, maintains, and services fuel injection systems, exhaust systems, cooling systems, air conditioning systems, lubrication systems, engine control systems, major internal engine repairs or overhauls, drive trains, transmissions, suspensions and steering, vehicle brake systems, and electrical components.
  • Completes all safety and annual inspections and adheres to Ministry standards and company policy.
  • Keeps up to date on training and new products - completes all training seminars and testing.
  • Participates in ongoing training systems when supplied.
  • Advises Supervisor and or Service Advisor when tasks will take longer to repair due to unusual situations so that the Supervisor and or advisor can communicate with the customer and get authorization to continue the repair.
  • Always gets authorization from Service Advisor before commencing any repair especially if repair is not specified on the work order.
  • Completes all forms supplied by the advisor in detail as outlined in the specific form. Signs off on safety and annual certificates once all required tasks and repairs have been met.
  • Performs workplace tasks in a safe manner
  • Attending and participating in manufacturer & dealer training.
  • Completing your WHMIS Certificate
  • Other duties as assigned by the Service Manager

Requirements

  • High school diploma or Post-secondary education.
  • Holds a valid 310T license.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and be familiar with both manual and automatic transmission types.
  • Strong understanding of mechanics.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Good analytical skills.
  • Physical fitness and stamina to stoop, crawl, work laying down, and lift heavy machinery. Standing/walking for 8 hours.
  • Possession of a complete set of hand tools including metric sizes.
  • Must have the ability to lift 70 lbs. and maneuver any package weighing up to 150 lbs. with appropriate equipment

  • The technician will have to work in all weather conditions and must be prepared for both extreme heat and cold.

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • No weekends

Experience:

  • Mechanic: 2 years

License/Certification:

  • 310T License (required)
