Ferrovial Construction Canada Inc. and VINCI Construction Grands Projects are undertaking the design, build, and finance the Ontario Line Southern Civil, Stations, and Tunnel (South Civil) package.
As Ontario Transit Group, we are now mobilizing our design and construction crews, with major works. The South Civil contract is anticipated to be completed in 2030.
The project will strengthen Ontario's economy by supporting an estimated 1,500 jobs at the peak of construction.
What is the project?
- A six-kilometer tunnel and associated tunnelling works from Exhibition to Don Yard portal (west of the Don River).
- Stations:
- One above-ground station to be integrated with the existing GO Transit Exhibition Station.
- Two underground stations to be integrated with the existing TTC Osgoode and Queen subway stations.
- Four new underground stations (King/Bathurst, Queen/Spadina, Moss Park, Corktown).

Scope Of Work:
General:
- Responsible for following-up temporary site installations for construction sites.
- Ensure a high standard of safety at any time. Enforce Lock Out Tag Out.
- Support all production teams for the temporary power supply.
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot all low voltage and fiber optics systems to ensure robust
- communication and control networks on surface and underground.
- Ensure installation is always in compliance with Canadian Standards in Ontario.
Operations:
- Prepare daily work for crew, schedule tasks, and dispatch team according to site planning and
- priorities.
- Explain and implement OTG procedures to ensure good comprehension of works by the site
- teams.
- Perform or assist during initial setup, testing, and commissioning of communication and control
- systems, ensuring they meet industry standards and safety protocols.
- Troubleshoot and repair PLC and communication system issues, diagnosing faults in real-time to
- minimize operational downtime
- Ensure reliable data transmission through fiber optic cables, analyzing and maintaining network
- integrity and performance
- Collaborate with project managers, electrical engineers, and field technicians to achieve timely
- installation and commissioning of systems
- Conduct regular system audits and preventive maintenance to ensure equipment functionality,
- reliability, and compliance with safety standards
- Maintain technical documentation up to date, including wiring diagrams, PLC programs, and
- installation reports for system handover.
- Ensure equipment is well maintained and always safe to use.
- Always ensure safe and smooth operation.
- Follow-up procurement to get the material and spare parts on time.
- Mobilize equipment and material for site teams.
- Follow-up spare parts and consumables to ensure smooth operation.
- Coordinate with Plant Engineer and site teams for 3 weeks look ahead and day to day activities.
Reporting:
- Ensure daily briefing is performed at each shift starting on site and is recorded in the OTG
- software.
- Get daily reports from site team; staff and workers presence, hours done, and tasks performed
- each day.
- Get the hourly meters / kWh meters of all equipment on site (electrical meters on generators,
- substations, etc.)
- Bachelor's degree.
- 5+ years' experience in Temporary Installation Electrical Department with Civil Engineering
- company
