Ferrovial Construction Canada Inc. and VINCI Construction Grands Projects are undertaking the design, build, and finance the Ontario Line Southern Civil, Stations, and Tunnel (South Civil) package.
As Ontario Transit Group, we are now mobilizing our design and construction crews, with major works. The South Civil contract is anticipated to be completed in 2030.
The project will strengthen Ontario's economy by supporting an estimated 1,500 jobs at the peak of construction.
What is the project?
- A six-kilometer tunnel and associated tunnelling works from Exhibition to Don Yard portal (west of the Don River).
- Stations:
- One above-ground station to be integrated with the existing GO Transit Exhibition Station.
- Two underground stations to be integrated with the existing TTC Osgoode and Queen subway stations.
- Four new underground stations (King/Bathurst, Queen/Spadina, Moss Park, Corktown).

- Prepare tenders for architectural works, review offers received in a short time, meet and discuss with candidates, challenge prices, review details in scope of work, ensure Quality & Safety are part of the company core, and prepare selection of the best offers.
- Preparation of the construction sequence and working schedules for all architectural works
- Has worked on site for at least 10 years, has a high knowledge of coordination between civil works, MEP and architectural works.
- Review and prepare methods of statement, quality documents, progress on site, prestart meetings, pre-task meetings
- Manage regular meetings with subcontractors to follow progress and any potential issue.
- Can identify failure in the subcontractors, and is able to propose solution based on previous experience
- The first year, 2025, will be office work for the preparation of the start of construction
- From second year, the job changes to follow-up on site of the construction and coordination on several stations
- Prepare report of progress to follow-up schedule, review subcontractors' invoices at the end of each month, perform quality inspection with quality dedicated team
- Ensure safety at all moments of the construction, and able to take decisions on the good and correct behavior of works on site, as per OTG standards
- Bring his experience in Canadian construction projects to OTG, has works on transit project before, is able to introduce new suppliers and subcontractors of high value for the project.
- Can make daily and weekly coordination meetings on site with subcontractors in the Architectural discipline, and with subcontractors from others discipline.
- Has 10-15 years' experience in managing construction subcontractors as well as team leaders on site.
- Has experience in managing unions own manpower.
- Excellent reading and understanding of construction drawings.
- Computer skills – Office 365 (MS Excel, work) and basic AutoCAD knowledge.
- Strong communication skills – oral and written.
- Self-motivated with good organizational skills.
- Ability to work with others as a team.
- Good initiative, attention to details.
- Needs a natural leader's skill to coordinate all work.
