Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager with a skilled trade license to oversee and optimize maintenance operations in the food manufacturing industry. The ideal candidate will ensure equipment reliability, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency while leading a team of maintenance professionals.
Location - Brandon, MB
Pay - $110K to $140K
- Preventive & Predictive Maintenance: Develop and implement maintenance programs to minimize downtime and maximize equipment efficiency.
- Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and train a team of maintenance technicians and skilled tradespeople.
- Equipment & Facility Management: Oversee the operation, maintenance, and upgrades of production machinery, utilities, and infrastructure.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to FDA, HACCP, GMP, OSHA, and other industry regulations.
- Troubleshooting & Repairs: Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and automation-related issues to ensure uninterrupted production.
- Skilled Trade Work: Perform hands-on work in line with trade certification, including electrical, millwright, or refrigeration-related tasks.
- Continuous Improvement: Implement cost-effective solutions, lean maintenance strategies, and emerging technologies.
- Safety & Quality Standards: Promote a strong culture of workplace safety, food safety, and quality assurance.
- Budget & Inventory Management: Manage maintenance budgets, track expenses, and optimize spare parts inventory.
- Education: Degree/Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering OR relevant skilled trade certification.
- Trade License: Valid Millwright, Electrician, Refrigeration, or other skilled trade license (e.g., Red Seal Certification in Canada).
- Experience: 5+ years in maintenance management within the food manufacturing industry.
- Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of PLC systems, refrigeration, hydraulics, pneumatics, and automation.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to manage skilled tradespeople and drive performance.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to diagnose and resolve complex mechanical and electrical issues efficiently.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with HACCP, GMP, OSHA, FDA, and food safety protocols.
- Computer Skills: Proficiency in CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems), Microsoft Office, and ERP systems.
