About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic CNC Machinist to join our team! This position will play an integral role in the development and maintenance of the machinery for our CNC machines while working closely with other departments across the company to ensure accuracy and quality with the parts produced.

Position Details

• Position Status: Full-Time, Permanent
• Location: Calgary, AB
• Shift: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Duties and Responsibilities

• Safely operate CNC Lathe and CNC Mill.
• Analyze drawings for suitability.
• Confirm dimensions and tolerances.
• Conduct pre-use inspection of machinery and tools.
• Identify damage, deficiencies, and abnormalities.
• Report changes to machine, program, tooling, or inserts.
• Prevent damage due to errors, malfunctions, or breakdowns.
• Ensure correct machine operation.
• Recognize and troubleshoot abnormalities.
• Replace inserts as needed.
• Provide feedback on deficiencies to programmers.
• Perform in-process inspection for part tolerances and specifications.
• Demonstrate effective communication of challenges to engineers or management.
• Report on health and safety concerns.
• Cooperate with duties under OHS legislation.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Journeyman Machinist certification or equivalent, preferred.
• 2+ years precision machining experience
• CNC lathe and/or CNC mill operation, including pre-use inspection.
• Understanding and navigating machine controls.
• Loading and understanding CNC machining programs.
• Troubleshooting and providing solutions for CNC Technicians.
• Reading and understanding technical drawings/prints.
• Analyzing and interpreting program requirements using Mastercam and/or Fusion 360.
• Effective use of precision measuring tools.
• Meeting/exceeding quality and production goals.
• Mentoring and providing constructive feedback.
• Safe use of hand, power, and pneumatic tools.
• Capable of moving heavy equipment, materials, and supplies up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
