Role and Responsibilities

We are seeking a talented and motivated Embedded Systems Engineer to join our Fish Tracking team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electronics design, embedded programming, digital signal processing, communications theory, and a passion for developing innovative solutions in a challenging and rewarding environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop digital and analog circuits for embedded systems
  • Program low-power microprocessors using C
  • Implement Digital Signal Processing (DSP) algorithms in C on low-power, low-resource processors or DSP chips
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system requirements and specifications
  • Conduct testing and debugging of hardware and software components
  • Contribute to the advancement of our technology and products through innovative thinking and problem-solving

Required Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience in designing digital and analog circuits
  • Proficiency in programming embedded systems using C and assembly
  • Strong understanding of Digital Signal Processing (DSP) theory and practical implementation in C and assembly
  • Experience with low-power, low-resource processors or DSP chips
  • Strong understanding of digital communications theory
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think abstractly
  • Demonstrated track record of innovation and creativity in previous projects
  • Ability to solve difficult problems with minimal guidance
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

EducationBachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Experience with fish tracking or aquatic monitoring technologies
  • Familiarity with wireless communication protocols and sensor integration
  • Knowledge of environmental and sustainability practices in aquatic ecosystems
  • Understanding of Underwater Acoustic channel characteristics
  • Understanding of basic project management principles
