Ferrovial Construction Canada Inc. and VINCI Construction Grands Projects are undertaking the design, build, and finance the Ontario Line Southern Civil, Stations, and Tunnel (South Civil) package.

As Ontario Transit Group, we are now mobilizing our design and construction crews, with major works. The South Civil contract is anticipated to be completed in 2030.

The project will strengthen Ontario's economy by supporting an estimated 1,500 jobs at the peak of construction.

What is the project?

  • A six-kilometer tunnel and associated tunnelling works from Exhibition to Don Yard portal (west of the Don River).
  • Stations:
    • One above-ground station to be integrated with the existing GO Transit Exhibition Station.
    • Two underground stations to be integrated with the existing TTC Osgoode and Queen subway stations.
    • Four new underground stations (King/Bathurst, Queen/Spadina, Moss Park, Corktown).

Please note this is a co-op role that is estimated to start in May 2025 for an eight-month to a one year term.

Job Description
  • Prepare and submission of IFC drawings markups / redlines required after the completion of Request for Information (RFI), Field Change Request (FCR), Notice of Design Change (NDC).
  • Review of shop drawings prepared by our Subcontractor's and external Designers.
  • Review design changes to the IFC documentation in the form of RFI, FCR, Non-Conformances, NDC.
  • Tracking the performance and the cost of OTG's external Designers based on the Time and Material invoices that we will receive during construction.
  • Other ad hoc tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate or postgraduate program in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Electrical Engineering.
  • Strong analytical skills and a problem-solving mindset; you embrace challenges!
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; you're an effective communicator.
  • Ability to work independently while also thriving in a team environment; you're adaptable!
  • A keen eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy; you ensure nothing is overlooked.
  • Ability to thrive in a multidisciplinary environment; you enjoy learning from various fields.
  • Must hold a valid G driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Willing and able to work outdoors.
