Position Summary
Reporting to the Superintendent - The Turf Care Supervisor oversees the maintenance and management of the golf course's turf areas, ensuring optimal playing conditions and exceptional aesthetic quality. This leadership role involves supervising a team of turf care technicians, implementing agronomic practices, and ensuring compliance with environmental and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities
- Supervise, train, and mentor turf care technicians, providing guidance and support to ensure excellence in turf maintenance practices.
- Promote teamwork and a positive work environment, fostering professional growth among team members.
- Oversee the maintenance and operation of turf care equipment, ensuring all machinery is in good working order and used safely.
- Perform irrigation system maintenance, including audits, sprinkler adjustments, and pipe repairs.
- Identify and manage pests, diseases, and weeds using integrated pest management (IPM) strategies.
- Apply fertilizers and pesticides in compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
- Work closely with other departments to coordinate course preparation for tournaments and special events.
- Ensure the course is in peak condition to provide an exceptional experience for guests and members.
- Enforce safety protocols and environmental regulations, maintaining a safe working environment for all team members.
- Document and report any incidents or accidents, ensuring proper follow-up and resolution.
- Maintain accurate records of turf maintenance activities, including application schedules, equipment usage, and conditions.
- Provide regular updates to management on turf health and maintenance activities.
- Interact with guests when necessary to provide information about turf care practices and ensure a positive experience.
- Respond promptly to emergencies, such as equipment malfunctions or severe weather conditions, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
Requirements
- The ideal candidate will have previous golf course maintenance experience.
- Strong levels of initiative/ability to confidently make do the spot decisions in the field.
- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
- Must have a Driver's License.
- Lift to 50lbs occasionally, 30lbs frequently, and 20lbs constantly
- Ability to work flexible hours, early mornings, weekends, and some holidays (we have a weekend and a stat holiday rotating schedule)
- Demonstrate professional radio etiquette
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment within your department
- Follow all Health and Safety procedures
- Eligible to work in Canada full-time; we don't provide working visas.
- Capable of operating machinery and equipment
Duration: This is a Full-Time seasonal position, April to early November. Overtime during busy periods may be required.
