Position: Full-time, Safety Manager

The successful candidate will be adaptable to the demands of a diverse portfolio of projects and be advanced in their ability to produce technical, occupational health and safety (OHS) content to meet a broad range of client deliverables and / or safety program initiatives. They are a natural problem solver and an effective leader to a diverse team of safety professionals.

Expectations

Advanced written and verbal communication skills.

Advanced knowledge of applicable Federal and Provincial OH&S legislation (WorkSafe BC).

Proactive collaborative approach with the Corporate Safety Manager on the daily safety strategies implemented for multiple work sites.

Advanced and broad understanding of safety requirements in civil construction environment.

Ability to synthesize and then transfer knowledge in verbal or written format in a practical manner.

Must be able to work independently and initiate solutions while open to taking directions and feedback.

Demonstrated leadership skills balanced with adaptability to meet the needs of a dynamic and diverse team.

Strong skills in Microsoft Office suite of programs.

Traveling to different job sites across the province.

Qualifications

Preferred completion of diploma or certificate in Occupational Health and Safety

Management experience is an asset

5 years of experience in occupational health and safety is mandatory

A civil construction background would be an asset
