Job Description- Follow all Sodexo Programs: Food Safety, Health and Safety, policies and Recipes
- Ensure that assigned items are prepared according to Sodexo menu standards and following established recipes
- Ensures that sanitation meets or exceeds standards (Client, Health Department and Sodexo.)
- Prepares food for Client and Resident services
- Efficiently organizes and stores groceries, ensuring items are placed in appropriate areas to maintain cleanliness, freshness, and easy access
- Prepares, serves, deliveries & picks up meals as per service style of the facility
- Ensures proper food handling and storage techniques are followed
- Assists with the programming of leftovers
- Always maintains high staff morale by setting a positive example
- Performs role safely by:
- Learning the safe way to perform the job
- Performing each task in a safe manner using equipment provided, following instructions and established procedures
- Reporting all injuries and hazardous conditions to management immediately
- Supporting the Safety Program in the unit
- Other tasks, duties and assignments as directed by the supervisor, manager, or lead cook.
- Minimum of 1-2 years in a similar role (high volume is an asset)
- Formal cook training and/or Red Seal is an asset
- Current Foodsafe Level 1 and 2 (within last 5 years)
- Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills; ability to perform simple calculations and read/follow instructions
- Ability to work under time pressure and meet established goals and objectives
- Interpersonal skills, ability to work together with other members of the team
- Adherence to food safety and health and safety standards
- Familiarity with dysphagia / texture modified foods an asset.
- HACCP, WHMIS training
- Current vaccinations
