The School

The brand-new West Coulee Station Elementary School will open for the 2025-2026 school year. Located in Garry Station and future home of the Spanish Bilingual program, the school will serve approximately 400 to 500 students from kindergarten to grade 5. West Coulee Station Elementary School will provide a large welcoming space for all students for instructional and performance activities in the Garry Station community.

Garry Station is one of the newer areas in West Lethbridge, located northwest of Indian Battle Heights and southwest of West Highlands. The neighborhood was first established in 2012 but continues to grow and develop welcoming all families to enjoy the many amenities it has to offer.

Subjects

West Coulee Station Elementary School is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic professional educator to join their team as a Learning Support Teacher at the beginning of the 2025-26 school year! The successful candidate will have a passion for supporting students in learning, be enthusiastic, flexible, and an energetic team player who has:

  • A strong background in literacy and numeracy;
  • Level B Assessment training (considered an asset);
  • EAL experience (benchmarking considered an asset);
  • Knowledge of UDL and RTI model (considered an asset);
  • Previous teaching experience (preferred);
  • The ability to collaborate and create strong relationships for the purpose of learning with students, staff, and families.

Requirements

  • Applicants must possess or be eligible to obtain an Alberta Teaching Certificate.

Conditions of Employment

In order to ensure and maintain a safe and secure working and learning environment, applicants new to Lethbridge School Division who are offered employment must provide:

  • A police information check; including Vulnerable Sector Check from Police Services or an RCMP detachment that does not have any charges or convictions.
  • A satisfactory Intervention Record Check from South Region Alberta Child and Family Services.
  • Proof of photo identification, may be a valid driver's licence, provincial identification card as issued by a licensed government registry office, valid passport or Nexus card. If one cannot be provided, a new card must be obtained and proof of application provided within three days of hire.
  • Documentation of a valid Social Insurance Number in the employee's legal name. If valid Social Insurance documentation in the current legal name can not be provided, the successful candidate will be required to obtain a new one within three days of hire.
