Wage range: Remuneration is fee-for-service, supplemented by on-call and administrative sessional payments.

CASA House is a live-in program for teens who need support with significant mental health and/or addictions challenges. Teens stay at CASA House for an average of four months. The program involves parents and caregivers as active participants in treatment. Treatment includes individual, group and family therapy, social and life skills training, and on-site schooling in small classroom settings.

About the Role

Treatment includes individual, group and family therapy, social and life skills training, and on-site schooling in small classroom settings.
The Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist will:
- Have an interest and skills in assessment, treatment and program development.
- Work within a multidisciplinary team including psychiatrists, therapists, nurses, psychologists, therapy support navigators, concurrent counsellors, occupational therapists and speech-language pathologists.
- Have an interest in education of residents and students, as the successful candidate is expected to apply for an Academic Appointment in the Department of Psychiatry (University of Alberta).
- Have the option to be involved with Parent Support Group and Multi-Family Therapy sessions. This is considered an asset for the successful candidate.
- Candidates must be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Psychiatry and preferably have subspecialty certification in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
- Must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta.
- A satisfactory Criminal Records Check with Vulnerable Sector Search and Child Intervention Check. This would be the financial responsibility of the successful candidate.
- Following the interview process, selected candidates must successfully complete the credentialing process prior to being appointed as a member of the medical staff.
