Position Summary
The Community Engagement Coordinator plays a pivotal role in enhancing Ruth & Naomis Missions outreach by engaging community members, coordinating events, and fostering relationships with donors, partners, and sponsors. This role combines responsibilities in event planning, donor engagement, and community partnership to increase the missions visibility, impact, and support. The ideal candidate is passionate, creative, and driven, with strong communication skills and a heart aligned with our faith-based mission.
Key Responsibilities
Community Engagement & Communications
- Content Creation: Conduct interviews with clients, staff, and community partners to generate compelling stories and updates for newsletters, donor communications, and other materials.
- Donor Communications: Prepare and manage donor-focused communications, highlighting the impact of contributions, in collaboration with the Director of Development.
- Written Materials: Produce written communications, including campaign content, newsletters, and mission updates, to effectively reach and engage the community.
Partner & Donor Relationship Development
- Donor & Partner Engagement: Identify and cultivate relationships with potential donors and community partners, increasing awareness and support for Ruth & Naomis Mission.
- Stewardship & Donor Relations: Provide regular, meaningful updates and outreach to maintain strong donor relationships and enhance engagement.
- Community Partner Coordination: Coordinate with vendors, community partners, and staff to facilitate collaboration on events and other initiatives.
Event Planning & Sponsorship
- Event Coordination: Lead the planning and execution of community events and donor appreciation gatherings to strengthen community connections.
- Sponsorship Acquisition: Secure sponsorships for events by developing tailored sponsorship packages and meeting revenue goals.
- Event Logistics: Oversee event logistics to ensure smooth and successful execution, effectively engaging donors and partners.
Development & Fundraising Support
- Fundraising Campaigns: Support fundraising campaigns, collaborating with the Development Department to reach financial targets.
- Marketing Strategy: Assist in the development of a marketing strategy that aligns with outreach and donor engagement goals.
Qualifications & Assets
- Education: Preferred background in marketing, communications, event management, or a related field.
- Skills: Strong communication skills (written and verbal), event management experience, and familiarity with marketing tools; experience in CRM software is an asset.
- Technical Knowledge: Basic graphic design skills and experience in print media are beneficial.

Benefits: Health and dental benefits, with matched RSP contributions available after the probation period.
Work Schedule: Standard hours are 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., Monday to Friday, with variations around events and community connections.
Compensation: $65,000-$70,000 based on skills
