This term position is perfect for those looking to use the extensive knowledge gained from their recent degree and apply it to gain unique experience with the Saskatchewan Roughrider Foundation.

  • Term: May 5, 2025 – August 15, 2025
  • Full-time, salaried role
  • We are looking for top local talent to share, inspire and grow the passion that fuels Rider Nation and our province! Therefore, applicants must be Saskatchewan based or a returning local resident.
  • This role will be mainly based out of Saskatoon and area.

The Program Coordinator will be responsible for aiding in the development and operation of growth initiatives promoting football to the province of Saskatchewan. The coordinator will be tasked with reaching out to community members to bring “learn to” or “grow the game” events throughout the spring/summer months in an effort to promote the positive benefits of activity, the sport of football, and the Saskatchewan Roughrider Foundation. There will be a targeted emphasis on reaching out to communities including under-represented groups, especially Indigenous athletes and New Canadians to broaden the reach of football in the province. This will require working with and supporting major stakeholders in the province, including Football Saskatchewan.

The coordinator will also work with supervisors to further current programming as well as finding any improvements or new initiatives that could be included in the future.

Requirements

Where will your talents be focused?

  • Reaching out to potential communities who have active programming to set up “learn to” or “grow the game” events in the area.
  • With the help of the communities, promote the event in the area.
  • Travel to and from communities with equipment/personnel to operate a safe and fun event.
  • Ensure all safety protocols are met before, during and after the event.
  • Connecting communities who are interested in the creation of football programming in their area with stakeholders to allow growth and sustainable initiatives.
  • Aiding any new/current Saskatchewan Roughrider Football Foundation events as needed.
  • Report to managing supervisors to ensure all needs are met as well as timelines and activities.

What is needed to be successful in this role?

  • Experience playing sports or coaching youth sports & programming.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with youth in a positive and professional manner.
  • Organization and time management skills.
  • Proven ability to work as part of a team.
  • Willingness to deliver sport programs to communities.
  • Highly independent with a willingness to be a leader working with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including some weekends and evenings.
