The program addresses the need for services closer to students by bridging a child's mental health and school needs, through a coordinated approach by a mental health team and a teacher. CASA Classrooms are delivered in partnership with the Government of Alberta, community partners and school divisions.

The program addresses the need for services closer to students by bridging a child's mental health and school needs, through a coordinated approach by a mental health team and a teacher. CASA Classrooms are delivered in partnership with the Government of Alberta, community partners and school divisions.
The Therapy Support Navigator will:
- Assist Mental Health Therapists/Physicians in screening and assessment interviews, in order to develop a treatment plan for mental health services.
- Participate in the case management of assigned caseload.
- Provide hands-on modelling and coaching to family members as determined and guided by the treatment plan.
- Coordinate and facilitate psycho-educational/treatment groups for patients and their families.
- Provide outreach support for youth in the community, in consultation with the CASA Classrooms and Transition teams.
- Develop and maintain a list of community resources and use these to refer patients and families to community agencies for additional mental health support.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in social work, arts (majoring in psychology), education or related field.
- Minimum of three years of practical experience in a children's mental health treatment setting, with a particular emphasis on dual diagnosis, learning disability, developmental delay and executive dysfunction.
- Current registration in good standing with a professional college identified under the Health Professions Act.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license and access to vehicle.
Conditions of Employment
- A satisfactory Criminal Records Check with Vulnerable Sector Search. This would be the financial responsibility of the successful candidate.
- Proof of COVID-19 vaccination or exemption on the basis of a protected legal ground.
- Ability to pass and maintain Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) certification (training provided by CASA), as well as physical ability to perform all interventions.
