General Job Description:

Reporting to the TPS Manager, it is the responsibility of the TPS Engineer to review the entire plant as a ‘system' and through TPS Kaizen techniques, implement improvements in all areas from material flow to assembly processes.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Process design & implementing of assembly cells
  • Direct the building of work stations
  • Purchasing jigs/fixtures and other items
  • Kaizen of current production processes (cycle time, inventory, and lead time reductions).
  • Setup and kaizen current and new AGV systems
  • Kaizen of our warehouse and service parts production system
  • Time studies and operation analysis.
  • Material flow and capacity planning simulations.
  • Ergonomic investigations & workstation redesign.
  • Plant layout updates.
  • Maintenance of good 5S
  • Support TPS Manager with any other request
  • Required to multitask – handle multiple tasks of varying importance and urgency

Qualifications:

  • Industrial Engineering University Degree or similar education / experience
  • Excellent computer skills, especially with Microsoft Excel, Word and AutoCAD
  • Knowledge of TPS principles
  • Mechanically inclined
  • 3D Printing & Design experience a strong asset
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • A willingness to innovate, create & experiment
  • Work in a self-directed manner
  • There is a six-month probation period for this position.
