Ferrovial Construction Canada Inc. and VINCI Construction Grands Projects are undertaking the design, build, and finance the Ontario Line Southern Civil, Stations, and Tunnel (South Civil) package.
As Ontario Transit Group, we are now mobilizing our design and construction crews, with major works. The South Civil contract is anticipated to be completed in 2030.
The project will strengthen Ontario's economy by supporting an estimated 1,500 jobs at the peak of construction.
What is the project?
- A six-kilometre tunnel and associated tunnelling works from Exhibition to Don Yard portal (west of the Don River)
- Stations:
- One above-ground station to be integrated with the existing GO Transit Exhibition Station.
- Two underground stations to be integrated with the existing TTC Osgoode and Queen subway stations.
- Four new underground stations (King/Bathurst, Queen/Spadina, Moss Park, Corktown.

Job Description- Ensure that all OTG construction sites comply with local health and safety regulations, codes, and industry standards.
- Assist in regular safety inspections and audits of construction sites, equipment, and processes to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
- Assist in developing and delivering safety training programs for employees, subcontractors, and suppliers, emphasizing safe work practices and procedures.
- Assist in incident reporting and investigation processes, including near-miss reporting, and work with teams to implement corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate safety records, including incident reports, safety inspection findings, and training records, and prepare reports for review.
- Assist in promoting safety awareness by facilitating safety meetings, toolbox talks, and safety campaigns to engage employees in safety initiatives.
- Assist in developing and implementing emergency response plans, ensuring employees are adequately trained in response procedures.
- Identify opportunities for safety improvement, provide recommendations, and collaborate with project teams to implement safety enhancements.
- Assist in evaluating the safety performance of subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring they meet OTG's safety standards.
- Stay informed about changes in health and safety regulations, codes, and best practices, and communicate relevant updates to project teams.
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Knowledge of local health and safety regulations, codes, and industry standards.
- Proficiency in safety management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Commitment to promoting a safe and healthy work environment, with the ability to engage and influence others in safety initiatives.
- Strong analytical skills and a problem-solving mindset; you embrace challenges!
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; you're an effective communicator.
- Ability to work independently while also thriving in a team environment; you're adaptable!
