We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner to work in a retirement home in Bradford. The opening is for a part-time NP to work 3 days a week, but this can vary based on facility needs. The facility is a large retirement home located in Bradford, Ontario.

The successful candidate's areas of responsibility will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Conduct physical examinations and obtain comprehensive medical history of residents
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests and lab results in order to assess and diagnose ill residents
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans based on resident needs
  • Prescribe medications, therapies, and other interventions within the scope of practice
  • Coordinate resident care with specialists, floor staff, and other healthcare professionals
  • Communicate with residents and their families to address health concerns
  • Support effective communication of care plans, treatments, and follow up care instructions
  • Maintain accurate medical records and documentation that are in accordance with applicable legislation and regulations
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare legislation, regulations, and professional standards at all times
  • Meet the Standards of the College of Nurses of Ontario at all times
  • All other duties, as assigned

Key qualifications for this position will include, but are not limited to:

  • Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Valid First Aid/CPR certificate
  • Completion of Police Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Satisfactory professional references
  • Previous experience in a retirement home or long term care setting is required
  • Experience using PCC (PointClickCare) and/or Yardi software is an asset***
