The position:

Reporting to the Health and Safety Manager, the Health and Safety Administrator is integral to our commitment to a safe and compliant workplace. This role supports the development and maintenance of health and safety programs that align with provincial regulations, safety policies, and WCB requirements. By coordinating safety training, assisting with incident investigations, conducting site inspections, and supporting audits, this position helps ensure the well-being of our team members across all locations.

What you'll be doing:

  • Policy and Training Coordination: Develop, update, and maintain health and safety policies, procedures, and training programs, ensuring compliance and promoting a culture of safety.
  • Incident Management: Assist with incident investigations, including documentation, reporting, and recommending corrective actions to improve safety protocols.
  • Workers' Compensation Support: Administer WCB claims, maintain accurate records, and collaborate on return-to-work plans while providing guidance on compliance requirements.
  • Compliance and Inspections: Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure adherence to health and safety standards, documenting findings and tracking corrective actions.
  • Certification Maintenance: Support the maintenance of COR certification by preparing for audits, coordinating corrective action plans, and ensuring ongoing compliance with provincial safety regulations.

What you need to be successful:

  • Education and Certification: Completion or progress in ACSA HSA or equivalent certification; active internal/peer auditor status preferred.
  • Experience: 1-3 years of health and safety experience, with knowledge of Provincial OHS Legislation and WCB Regulations.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Communication and Leadership: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to organize and lead group meetings confidently.
  • Work Ethic and Teamwork: Dependable and client-focused, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Availability:

This is a full-time position and will require you to be available:

Monday to Friday from 7:30am to 4:00pm
