Job Summary
The IT Desktop Support intern is responsible for assisting with end-user support and troubleshooting technical support issues on desktop computers, laptops, printers and telephones.
Internship Type: This is a full-time internship
Term Placement Available:
- Summer (May - August 2025)
- Fall (September - December 2025)
Main Responsibilities
Ongoing
- Answer and respond to Help Desk calls, emails and personnel requests for technical support.
- Assist with building and configuring workstations as per departmental processes.
- Assist with installing computer hardware components, operating system software and end-user applications.
- Provide support to end users on a variety of issues.
- Help identify issues, research and assist with resolving technical problems.
- Track and monitor problems to ensure a timely resolution.
- Support Game Day and or Event Day setup and support as required.
- Assist other team members as required.
Periodic
- Willingness to accommodate flexible work schedule, which includes working before/after hours as well as weekends for situations that require special attention.
- Represent Senators Sports & Entertainment in a positive manner to fans and the community.
- Perform other tasks as requested.
Job Requirements
- Must be enrolled in a post-secondary program requiring a placement for credit
- 1st or 2nd year College/Technical Diploma
- Demonstrate the ability to support Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, and Exchange/Outlook.
- Ability to install and troubleshoot problems with various 3rd party applications and utilities.
- Strong technical aptitude -- this position requires competence with basic hand tools and mechanical aptitude to successfully perform hardware installation and maintenance.
- Willingness to learn and acquire new skills as new and/or updated technologies emerge.
- Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills .
- Team player.
