FACILITY ATTENDANT (FLOATER)
(Temporary Full-time – 4 Month Contract February to May 2025)
The Town of Wasaga Beach is seeking an energetic, self-motivated individual to perform the duties of Facility Attendant for four (4) months to be scheduled to work at any of the Town facilities.
The successful candidate will be required to perform the duties of cleaning, maintenance, repair at the RecPlex, Wasaga Stars Arena and other municipal buildings and grounds under the Recreation and Facilities Department as assigned. The candidate will be required have a general knowledge of other facility repairs, maintenance and cleaning.
The candidate must have the ability to work both independently and as a team member.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ontario Secondary School diploma or equivalent;
- Requires proof of an unrestricted valid class “G2” Ontario Drivers License (minimum);
- Previous experience, and a proven ability, to carry out facility maintenance, repairs and janitorial duties;
- Physically able to perform all duties of this physically active position including heavy lifting and indoor as well as outdoor work in all conditions;
- Good understanding of Safe Operating Procedures for power tools and associated facility maintenance equipment;
- Good organizational and decision making skills;
- Standard First Aid certification, CPR, Defibrillator and WHIMIS training is also a benefit;
- Ability to provide a current, acceptable Criminal Record Check (vulnerable sector) if hired;
- A proven ability to deal with the public and other staff in a courteous and efficient manner;
- The candidate must have the ability to work both independently and as a team member;
NOTE: A Collective Agreement with CUPE Local 3115 is in place
Hourly Rate: $24.38 (40 hours per week)
