The Eagle Builders Group of Companies (Eagle) is a diverse network of operating, investment, and holding companies. As Divisional Controller, you will provide financial guidance, analysis, and operational support to ensure successful financial outcomes and meet our obligations. You will collaborate closely with business partners to offer strategic financial advice and serve as a trusted source of financial leadership. This role is ideal for someone who is eager to learn about our core business and contribute to the continued growth of our property development division.

Job Description

  • Working alongside the existing Corporate Controller, this role will oversee the day-to-day accounting operations of Eagle, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger and payroll.
  • Ensure timely and accurate month end and year end financial reporting, including determining and recording; required journal entries.
  • Preparation of year end working paper files and liaise with external accounting professionals for various entries.
  • Continually review processes and procedures to ensure accuracy and efficiency, making changes where necessary, ensuring integrity of operational data and systems.
  • Ensure appropriate internal controls are in place for the organization.
  • Collaborate with the Chief Financial Officer and other senior leaders to develop and execute the companys strategic plan.
  • Coach/develop/mentor/support team members.
  • Expert at building relationships with stakeholders at all levels both internally and externally.
  • Contribute to treasury and banking functions as required, including monthly and quarterly reporting.
  • Monthly and quarterly tax filings and remittances.
  • Continually expand your knowledge of the entire operations of Eagle.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • CPA designation
  • Strong leadership skills, able to effect positive change through coaching and engagement activities
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite, along with experience in or the willingness to learn industry specific programs and investigate, recommend, and implement software efficiencies
  • Detail focused and strong ability to multi-task with strong organizational skills
  • Meet tight deadlines while ensuring work is accurate and correct
  • Valid Class 5 drivers license and reliable transportation
  • Willing to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Local to Central Alberta
