One of Canada's Best Managed Companies for 20 consecutive years and ranked as one of the top banks in Canada on Forbes World's Best Banks list for two years in a row, we are a team of smart, gutsy and driven individuals.

Reporting directly to the Leader of Culture and Employee Experience, the Senior DEIB Specialist plays a crucial role in fostering Servus as a place of belonging. This individual will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive DEIB strategies and initiatives across the organization. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic leader with extensive experience in DEIB, possess the ability to engage and influence all levels of the organization, and have a passion for driving meaningful change.

More specifically, the scope of responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop and Implement DEIB Strategy: Design, develop, and execute a holistic data-based DEIB strategy that aligns with the organization's purpose and values. This includes setting measurable goals, monitoring progress, and reporting on outcomes.
  • Facilitate and Manage Employee Resource Groups (ERGs): Oversee and support the development and management of ERGs, known as Servus Employee Resource Circles (SERCs), to promote a place of belonging. Provide guidance, resources, and training to SERC leaders and members to ensure alignment with the overall DEIB strategy.
  • Facilitate DEIB Conversations and Learning: Lead and facilitate DEIB conversations, workshops, and training sessions for employees at all levels, including executive leadership. Foster an environment of continuous learning and open dialogue around DEIB topics.
  • Strategic Programming Across Leadership Groups: Proactively develop and implement strategic data-based DEIB programming and initiatives for leadership groups, including executive leadership, to enhance their understanding and commitment to DEIB principles and practices.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Collect, analyze, and report on DEIB-related data and metrics to assess the effectiveness of DEIB initiatives and inform future strategies. Provide regular updates to senior leadership on progress and areas for improvement.
  • Policy and Procedure Development: Review and revise organizational policies, programs, procedures, and practices to ensure they are inclusive and equitable. Advocate for systemic changes that promote a workplace of belonging.
  • Partnership and Collaboration: Build and maintain relationships with internal and external partners, including community organizations, to support and enhance the organization's DEIB initiatives.
  • Compliance and Best Practices: Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and best practices related to DEIB. Stay current with industry trends and emerging issues in DEIB.

Requirements

Experience:

  • A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in DEIB, human resources, organizational development, or a related field, with a proven track record of developing and implementing successful DEIB strategy, programs, and initiatives.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, Social Sciences, or a related field is required.
  • A Master's degree or DEIB-related certification is preferred but is not required.
