Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive IT Support Specialist to join our team. This role involves setting up computers, managing software subscriptions, troubleshooting technical issues, and performing general IT tasks. The ideal candidate will possess excellent problem-solving skills, technical expertise, and a customer-focused mindset to ensure smooth IT operations within the company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Computer Setup and Maintenance:
- Configure and install hardware, software, and peripherals for new employees or workstations.
- Perform regular maintenance, updates, and upgrades to ensure optimal performance.
- Maintain an inventory of IT equipment and ensure proper documentation.
- Subscription and License Management:
- Manage software subscriptions and licenses, including procurement, renewal, and tracking.
- Ensure compliance with licensing agreements.
- Assist in transitioning to new software or systems when needed.
- Troubleshooting and Technical Support:
- Provide first-line support for hardware, software, and network issues.
- Diagnose and resolve technical problems, escalating complex issues when necessary.
- Assist employees with day-to-day technical inquiries and training as required.
- Network and System Management:
- Ensure connectivity and functionality of local and remote networks.
- Monitor and maintain network security protocols.
- Assist in maintaining data backups and disaster recovery procedures.
- General IT Duties:
- Assist in developing and updating IT policies and procedures.
- Coordinate with third-party vendors for equipment repairs or specialized support.
- Stay informed on emerging technologies and recommend improvements to IT systems.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- Diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is an asset.
- Proven experience in IT support or a similar role is an asset.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Windows, macOS, and common office productivity tools (e.g., Microsoft Office 365).
- Familiarity with hardware troubleshooting, networking basics, and IT security protocols.
- Knowledge of subscription management tools and IT ticketing systems is preferred.
Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Working Conditions:
- Office-based with occasional remote support duties.
- May require occasional lifting of IT equipment (e.g., computers, monitors).
- Some travel may be required for off-site support or training sessions.
