Senior Music Program Instructor
The Town of Wasaga Beach is seeking creative, energetic and self-motivated team players to fulfill the duties and responsibilities of Program Facilitator- 55+ Seniors Active Living Centre, Senior Music Program Instructor .
General Responsibilities: Reporting to the Active and Volunteer Living Programmer, the successful candidate will be responsible for the creation and delivery of instructional music programs including ukulele, guitar, hand drumming and rhythm orchestra. Candidates should be energetic and enthusiastic individuals with a foundation in creating and facilitating music classes for participants aged 55+.

The Town of Wasaga Beach is seeking creative, energetic and self-motivated team players to fulfill the duties and responsibilities of Program Facilitator- 55+ Seniors Active Living Centre, Senior Music Program Instructor .
General Responsibilities: Reporting to the Active and Volunteer Living Programmer, the successful candidate will be responsible for the creation and delivery of instructional music programs including ukulele, guitar, hand drumming and rhythm orchestra. Candidates should be energetic and enthusiastic individuals with a foundation in creating and facilitating music classes for participants aged 55+.
Additional duties include:
- Open/close facility (Key Holder);
- Audio visual setup and technical support for volunteers when required;
- Provide exceptional customer service to the program participants; weekly customer service email updates to participants as needed;
- Create an inclusive environment for learning and development;
- Record/submit weekly attendance and monthly stats;
- Ensure safety protocol is followed and provide safe environment for participants;
- Delivering “Learn to Play” and progressive level group instruction programs to Older Adult Learner;
- Provide assistance during themed seasonal socials with music performances.
Qualifications:
- Experience delivering/teaching a variety of music programs to 55+ Older Adults;
- Strong customer service abilities when dealing with the public, conflict resolution, working with and supporting Volunteers, in a team environment;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to update reports, records and statistics utilizing Microsoft Office and Outlook;
- Familiar with technical support apps to enhance programs learning and delivery;
- Proven organization skills with the ability to multitask in a busy environment;
- Certification in CPR/AED and AODA Customer Service;
- Demonstrated knowledge of Elder Abuse Awareness, Health and Safety, Violence in the Workplace, Pro Principles of Healthy Aging and best practices related to Occupational Health and Safety Act and other applicable legislation;
- A valid class "G" Ontario drivers' license with an acceptable drivers' abstract;
- An appropriate vulnerable sector screening check;
- Ability to work various shift based on program scheduling: days, afternoons, evenings and weekends.
