Youth Care Worker

Friendship Home - Full Time/Night Shift

You can establish rapport with vulnerable youth.


In these Youth & Community Services roles, the successful candidate will have:

  • A willingness and ability to work with vulnerable
  • Awareness of community services, resources, and
  • Experience in working with Aboriginal groups/communities.
  • Strong communication skills (oral and written) and ability to write reports.
  • Provide conflict resolution support and crisis
  • Provide daily living skills support and advocate for clients.
  • Coordinate internal/external

QUALIFICATION

  • Minimum of 2-years post-secondary education in a related field (Social Services, First Nations Studies, Criminology, Psychology etc.) and 1-2 years' experience working with youth; or a combination of education and experience.
  • Class 5 Driver's License with a willingness and ability to obtain unrestricted Class4 within 3 months of hire.
  • Certification: First Aid, Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (NVCI, CPI) Suicide Intervention, and Food Safe; or the willingness to obtain within 3 months of hire.
  • Ability to undergo a successful criminal record
  • Wages: $29.76/hr. - $32.76/hr. based on qualifications and experience (night shift premium).
