GARBAGE AND LANDFILL WORKER (FULL-TIME)

JOB TYPE: PERMANENT

DEADLINE: JANUARY 21, 2025

WAGE: $20/HR.

Eagle Lake First Nation is seeking a reliable and hardworking individual to join our team as a Garbage and Landfill Worker. This role is essential to maintaining the cleanliness and environmental health of our community by collecting waste, managing recyclables, and maintaining the landfill site.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Collect household, commercial, and public area waste according to a designated schedule.
• Sort and separate recyclable materials as required.
• Transport waste to designated disposal sites or recycling centers.
• Operate and maintain garbage collection equipment safely.
• Report any safety hazards, equipment malfunctions, or unusual waste items.
• Assist in community clean-up initiatives or special projects as needed.
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations and guidelines.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting heavy objects.
• Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
• Knowledge of or willingness to learn waste management and recycling practices.
• Valid drivers license.
• Ability to work in varying weather conditions.
