Job Summary
The position of Parts Runner/Electrical Apprenticeship is for an individual who is interested in pursuing a career in the Electrical or Instrumentation field. This position is an opportunity to be inducted into the Electrical and Instrumentation field while building the required foundational experience with Stuart Olson Infinity.
No experience is required! Stuart Olson will train the right candidate and walk them through the process of becoming indentured as an apprentice with Alberta careers.
The Parts Runner position allows Stuart Olson to ensure that the hired individual meets the requirements for the trade. The position will develop the individuals skills and knowledge of on-site safety requirements, materials and tools required for the trade. Stuart Olson Infinity will transition the successful candidate to an apprenticeship role once it is felt that the requirements have been met.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide indirect support for all Stuart Olson site activities as required;
- These duties will include, but not be limited to:
- Driving a light vehicle to transport works, tools and equipment;
- Material handling and receiving including PPE collection and storage;
- Yard maintenance, snow cleaning, and sanding;
- Minor vehicle maintenance and cleaning;
- Other duties as required
Qualifications
- Must be a member of McMurray Mtis Local 1935
- Class five (5) drivers license with a clean drivers abstract is required
- Grade 12 or GED equivalent is required
- Must be 18 years of age;
- Pre-employment drug & alcohol test is required.
Working Conditions
- Working in and around noise and dust
- Working both indoors and outdoors in hot and cold weather conditions
- Must be clean shaven
- Personal safety equipment will be required, e.g. steel-toed safety boots,
