Compensation:

· Starting rate of pay $34.26/hour.

· PLUS, Mileage Reimbursed at $0.48/km as applicable.

Key responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

  • Design and deliver engaging and effective lessons aligned with curriculum objectives.

  • Consistently and fairly evaluate performance of participants.

· Support administrative functions to optimize the participant experience.

· Prepare and conduct lectures, lead classroom discussions, and engage participants through theoretical and practical training.

· Employ innovative teaching methods suitable for adult learners to facilitate understanding of course material.

· Ensure the use of authorized teaching materials and adopt a structured approach involving lectures, presentations, demonstrations, and discussion groups.

· Apply effective adult learning strategies to communicate with a diverse participant body.

· Provide timely feedback on quizzes, assignments, and exams.

· Address participant queries and concerns with sensitivity and professionalism in a multicultural environment.

· Keep accurate attendance records and maintain classroom decorum.

· Participate in scheduled meetings and annual events.

· Uphold the confidentiality of participant information.

· Remain current in your field through ongoing professional development.

· Foster a collaborative and solution-oriented team environment.

· Consult with leadership and conduct needs assessments of service provider organizations to understand the learning needs, with a focus on community support services within the assigned geography.

· Develop, deliver and evaluate education programming, including in-person and through virtual media.

· Assist service provider organizations in the application of assessment tools and best practice guidelines.

· Develop and maintain relationships with key contacts with other community support services organizations.

· Develop and implement educational programs.

· Provide program reports and statistics as required.

· Perform other related duties as necessary.

Please apply if you possess the following:

· Current certificate of competence with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Nurse or Registered Practical Nurse.

· 3 or more years continuing care/gerontology experience preferred.

· Being a CPR instructor would be an asset.

· Previous experience in education with knowledge in home care and community living preferred.

· Demonstrated success in mentoring, developing and leading care staff preferred.

· A valid Canadian Driver's License and have regular access to a reliable vehicle

· Valid automobile insurance with liability coverage

· Able to work a variety of shifts including mornings, afternoons, evenings and weekends and understand the nature of our work and the importance of good attendance and reliability.

Successful Candidates will be required to obtain a current Police Vulnerable Sector Check
