Overview:
Working as a member of our Equipment team and based from our Surrey yard, with projects from downtown Vancouver to as far out as Abbotsford, this is a role that requires daily travel between all of our jobsites.The successful candidates main responsibility is to provide ongoing and preventative maintenance for all of our heavy equipment and performing repairs and servicing on our vehicles.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for diagnosis, repair and maintenance of equipment
- Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems, using hand and power tools
- Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers' specifications
- Develops and then follows checklists to ensure all important parts are examined, including belts, hoses, steering systems, spark plugs, brake and fuel systems
- Conduct inspections as part of on-going and preventative maintenance programs
- Prepare inspection, maintenance, work reports and record details
- Clean, lubricate and maintain all equipment, as scheduled and required
- Work with the Equipment Manager, Superintendents and Foreman to ensure as much up-time and utilization of equipment as possible
Experience & Skills:
- Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic trade certification
- Five years experience on heavy equipment
- Welding experience is an asset
- Valid current Class 5 B.C. Drivers License
- Prior experience in working with airtracks, excavators, front-end loaders, compactors, graders, rock trucks, back hoes
- Must have personal full set of heavy duty mechanic tools
- Must be local to the Lower Mainland

Salary is based on the Union Agreement rate at $47.29 per hour and is determined on various factors such as skills, experience, and qualifications for the role.
