SUMMARY

Hamilton Kent is seeking for a Material Handler – Shipper Receiver (50/50 in both departments) to join their team.

Freight; Forklift & Raymond Reach Operator, Plant & Warehouse Worker

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Obtain pick list from Supervisor.
• Retrieve extruded material from storage and deliver to appropriate location.
• Retrieve part crates/boxes from storage and deliver to appropriate location.
• Make sure machines and workstations are constantly supplied with material.
• Move finished crates/boxes to storage.
• Move Q.A. released material from “Temporary Hold Area” to storage.
• Provide assistance to Lead Hands with mold changes, cleaning and re-stocking.
• Manually move boxes from the box line onto the skids
• Manually move partial boxes to appropriate location
• Fill silicone tanks during breaks and make sure that the silicone drums are properly emptied.
• Keep refrigerator stocked up with splicing cement.
• Ensure garbage area is clean and tidy.
• Move all finished goods to transition area.
• Make sure an aisle is free in the “Temporary Hold Area”.
• Ensure that the Disposition, Permanent Hold and Strip Stock area are properly maintained and coordinated.
• Document and record all required information.
• Must be able to meet and maintain company quality and production requirements.
• Receive freight: offload, verify, inspect, report, and document freight to standard procedures.
• Ship freight: Verify load & document freight to standard procedures.
• Forklift operator: put away & pick freight from warehouse
• Keep warehouse & plant clean (end of day clean up )
• Support order processing and other warehouse activity as required.
• Maintain drivers' Shipping & Receiving Log
• Conduct Lift truck inspection daily
• Perform other duties as required by supervision to meet production & shipping requirements.

Requirements

• Must pass Police Background Check as per C-TPAT requirement.
• Self-motivated and results driven
• Effective communicator
• Forklift counterbalance and Raymond Reach valid current certification is a must.
• Warehouse experience would be an asset
• A working knowledge of scanners preferred, but training maybe provided
• Completion of WHMIS and Health & Safety training.

Work involves both routine and non-routine tasks requiring different and unrelated methods within authorized limits.

Contacts

Interacts on a daily basis with Plant Manager, Production Manager, Production Supervisors, Distribution Center Supervisor, Scheduler, Customer Service, sales representatives, other shippers, and carriers.
