Semiconductor Manufacturing Operation Supervisor (Fab)

Job Purpose:

The Production Supervisor will oversee day-to-day operations in our semiconductor fabrication facility, with a specific focus on microLED processes and production. The ideal candidate will ensure efficient production, adherence to quality standards, and the safety of the team. This role requires a hands-on leader who can manage production schedules, troubleshoot issues, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

YOUR Day-to-day Responsibilities:

Production Oversight:

  • Supervise and coordinate the daily operations of the fab, ensuring timely completion of production targets.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for throughput, yield, and downtime.

Process Management:

  • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure smooth integration and optimization of microLED-specific processes, such as photolithography, etching, deposition, and wafer bonding.
  • Troubleshoot process deviations and work to minimize production losses.

Team Leadership:

  • Manage and mentor a team of fab operators and technicians, providing training and development opportunities.
  • Schedule shifts and allocate resources to meet production goals.

Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure that all production processes comply with internal and external quality standards.
  • Lead root cause analysis for quality issues and implement corrective actions.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Enforce safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety (EHS) regulations.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction.
  • Participate in Lean/6-Sigma initiatives to enhance production efficiency.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain detailed records of production processes, equipment maintenance, and incidents.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on production metrics and challenges.

TOOLs/Skills you need for your role:

  • Bachelors degree in engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a related field. Equivalent experience will be considered.
  • 5+ years in a semiconductor manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Hands-on experience with microLED fabrication processes is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with cleanroom protocols and semiconductor equipment operation.
  • Knowledge of microLED processes, including thin-film deposition, photolithography, etching, and die transfer techniques.
  • Proficiency in using statistical process control (SPC) tools.
  • Strong team management, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems) or other production management software.
  • Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification.
  • Familiarity with advanced microLED production challenges, such as defect management and mass transfer.
