Position Overview:
We are seeking a Facilities Maintenance Coordinator to ensure our facilities operate smoothly and efficiently. In this key role, you will be the backbone of our day-to-day operations, ensuring that our facilities, vehicles, and systems are well-maintained to support the vital work we do. Responsibilities
Leadership:
- Serve as the professional representative of Simaril Inc., interacting with customers, suppliers, and staff in a positive and solutions-oriented manner.
- Coordinate and delegate maintenance and facility needs to contractors, staff, and external suppliers.
- Model our organizations values by fostering an environment of customer care, leadership, and respect in all interactions.
House Management & Licensing Permits:
- Support the CEO with facility-related matters and needs.
- Manage licensing and occupancy applications for new locations, ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Coordinate all necessary permit applications, reviews, and inspections, preparing new locations for occupancy.
- Ensure timely and cost-effective house maintenance, including procuring and negotiating with contractors for repairs and services.
- Conduct regular inspections and ensure all systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical) are functioning efficiently.
- Lead preventative maintenance efforts to prolong the lifespan of the facility and prevent costly repairs.
- Oversee emergency repairs, ensuring they are addressed promptly.
Van and Vehicle Management:
- Oversee the maintenance and coordination of the vehicles that support our outreach and service efforts.
Vendor & Contractor Management:
- Cultivate relationships with external vendors and contractors, ensuring quality, timely service delivery.
- Ensure compliance with contract standards and timelines for services such as cleaning, snow removal, and landscaping.
Financial Responsibilities:
- Manage procurement and maintenance of office and house furniture, including ordering, and replacement.
- Handle reconciliation of petty cash, processing payments, and tracking spending on maintenance, repairs, and supplies.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Post-secondary education related to facilities management, construction, or a related field is an asset.
- Minimum of 35 years of facilities or maintenance experience. Experience in community services or working with individuals with disabilities is highly valued.
- Eligible to work in Canada.
