Job Summary: As the Director of Finance, you will be at the forefront of overseeing all financial functions, from strategic planning and forecasting to risk management and compliance. You will play a key role in steering the company's financial performance, providing actionable insights, and collaborating with the executive leadership team to ensure that financial strategies fuel our growth. This is a highly strategic leadership role where your expertise will directly impact the company's profitability and long-term success.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Financial Leadership:

  • Develop and implement forward-thinking financial strategies that align with company goals and drive profitability.
  • Provide actionable financial insights and analysis to guide decision-making at all levels.
  • Collaborate with the executive team to optimize financial efficiency, profitability, and investment decisions.

Financial Management:

  • Oversee the creation, monitoring, and adjustment of budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
  • Manage cash flow, revenue streams, and expenses to maintain a solid financial foundation.
  • Lead financial modeling and analysis, providing expertise to the board and executive team for key decisions.

Accounting Oversight:

  • Supervise day-to-day accounting functions, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with all GAAP accounting standards and internal policies.
  • Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes to ensure financial data integrity.

Risk Management & Compliance:

  • Identify and assess financial risks, and implement strategic measures to mitigate them.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations across local, state, and federal levels.
  • Manage relationships with external auditors and regulatory agencies to ensure smooth audits and compliance.

IT & Data Management:

  • Oversee IT-related financial expenditures, including software, hardware, and cybersecurity.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of IT processes in supporting financial operations and company growth.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance and accounting team.
  • Cultivate a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within your team.
  • Establish clear performance goals, providing regular feedback to foster career growth and development.

Management Reporting:

  • Prepare and present comprehensive financial reports, dashboards, and analyses to the executive team and board.
  • Investigate variances and ensure financial processes align with the company's evolving needs and strategic objectives.
  • Develop and deliver KPI reports, quarterly financial statements, and ad-hoc analyses as required.

Qualifications and Skills:

Education & Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • CPA designation is essential, with experience in advanced financial management and strategy.

Experience:

  • 8+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Experience in home renovations, installations, or retail is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with IT, payroll functions, and pricing strategy is a plus.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong proficiency in financial software, ERP systems, and advanced Excel modeling.
  • Expertise in financial forecasting, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.

Soft Skills:

  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with diverse teams.
  • Strong analytical skills and a strategic mindset, with attention to both high-level goals and detailed execution.
  • A proactive, results-oriented approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
