TheHive Health ServicesClinical Supervisor acts as a key resource to nursing, administrative and other clinic staff. The scope of the role involves providing program oversight, supervision to administrative and clinical staff in a supportive, empowering manner while facilitating the effective and efficient use of staff resources, flow of patients, and management of incidents or issues as they arise. The Clinic Supervisor will support a staff team that is providing specialized health services for people living with, at risk of, and affected by HIV/AIDS, and people seeking gender-affirming care.

PRINCIPAL JOB DUTIES

  • Provide day-to-day onsite supervision of staff and oversight of clinic including attendance management, scheduling, answering routine employment related questions, problem solving with team as needed to address issues that come up
  • Support an effective and efficient clinic flow, using a growth mindset and best practices to make improvements where needed
  • Lead daily team huddles
  • Meet with the staff to discuss client care, including a review of individual care plans, status of previously determined actions, and the development of next treatment steps.
  • Act as primary leadership contact for complex case management support for the Hive Health Services team
  • Provide mentoring and role modeling to support both role clarity and healthy professional boundary development.
  • Provide opportunities for learning and feedback for staff to promote professional development.
  • Develop cooperative and productive team relationships within and across Guelph CHCs various teams and locations, fostering a climate of teamwork, compassion, excellence and integrity.
  • Provide technical support for Hive Health Services staff for matters of a procedural, legislative, quality or patient confidentiality nature, as applicable.
  • Lead quality improvement projects within the Hive Health Services Clinic.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Regulated professional with supervisory experience, preferably in HIV, Gender-Affirming and/or Primary Care; or post-secondary education in health, business, social sciences or related disciplines, complemented by supervisory experience in a healthcare setting
  • Regulated healthcare professional (e.g. RN, SW, PT, OT) with 5+ years of clinical experience
  • Sound knowledge of professional standards and quality assurance guidelines
  • Excellent interpersonal skills in negotiation, conflict resolution and consensus building.
  • Ability to relate effectively with front-line staff, management, physicians, patients and families.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong computer literacy.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Lived or living experience is considered an asset.
  • Experience working with people with HIV/AIDS, people who identify as Transgender, and people seeking gender-affirming care is considered an asset.
  • Specialized health care, primary health care or community health experience is an asset.
  • Demonstrated expertise in client-centred, trauma-informed care and understanding of the value of interdisciplinary care in a health care setting.
