One of our manufacturing clients in Niagara Falls, ON region is looking for a Quality Engineer for their facility.
Shift - Day Shift
Pay - $110K - $120K
Key ResponsibilitiesQuality Control and Assurance:
- Monitor and inspect production processes to ensure compliance with company quality standards and customer requirements.
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality control systems, procedures, and documentation.
- Conduct routine inspections of raw materials, in-process goods, and finished products.
Problem-Solving and Root Cause Analysis:
- Investigate quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Use root cause analysis tools (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagrams) to identify and resolve defects.
Compliance and Audits:
- Ensure adherence to industry standards and regulatory requirements (ISO, GMP, etc.).
- Participate in internal and external quality audits and provide necessary documentation.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Collect and analyze quality metrics to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
- Prepare and present quality reports to management.
Continuous Improvement:
- Lead or participate in Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement projects.
- Recommend process improvements to enhance product quality and reduce waste.
Customer Collaboration:
- Work closely with customers to address quality concerns and specifications.
- Ensure customer satisfaction by delivering defect-free products.
Training and Development:
- Train production staff on quality standards, tools, and best practices.
- Foster a culture of quality awareness within the organization.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in quality engineering, preferably in the packaging industry.
- Proficiency in quality tools and methodologies (e.g., SPC, FMEA, 8D).
- Knowledge of ISO standards and regulatory requirements relevant to packaging.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and quality management software.
