The Role:

Reporting to the Senior Maintenance Manager, the Tig Welder will support the day-to-day welding tasks and projects while staying abreast of recent trends and techniques.

Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret engineering blueprints & understands proper welding processes (i.e. arc welding, TIG welding, plasma cutter/welding, oxy-acetylene welding and brazing, and soldering process);
• Operate a wide range of welding equipment depending on each job situation;
• Must be able to weld stainless steel pipes to meet the sanitary welding requirements;
• Accountable to quickly trouble shoot, diagnose and repair problems as they occur on any plant. production equipment or any of the facilities and grounds equipment;
• Double checking design specifications before commencing with cutting work;
• Fabricating and constructing metal components;
• Grinding and finishing complete products;
• Performing quality checks on completed products;
• Understands and complies with all company policies and procedures;
• Promote good communication and collaboration both within the maintenance team and other stakeholders;
• Responsible to follow all preventive maintenance schedules;
• Accurate reporting of all outstanding and completed work, including parts and tools used;
• Accountable to ensure a safe work environment for coworkers, customer, and visitors;

• Other duties as assigned by the Senior Maintenance Manager.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Welder certification;
• 3 to 5 years experience working in welding in the manufacturing industry;

• Knowledge in welding stainless steel;

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
• Strong multi-tasking and troubleshooting skills with an eye for continuous improvement;
  
• Responsible for compliance to Health and Safety, Good Manufacturing Practices, Food Safety and Environmental Standards always.
