A DAY IN THE LIFE OF REGIONAL CORPORATE COUNSEL
As the Regional Corporate Counsel at First Onsite, your day may begin with strategic discussions with senior leadership, where your insights shape key decisions on corporate, commercial, and regulatory matters. You navigate high-stakes negotiations, drafting and reviewing contracts, including master service agreements and vendor agreements, ensuring that every detail aligns with the company's goals and mitigates risk.
Midday may involve providing advice on employment or liability matters, addressing complex issues that require balancing legal rigor with business practicality. You engage with cross-border teams to align compliance strategies across jurisdictions, maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
Your afternoon could be spent guiding legal diligence for an acquisition or overseeing the resolution of a litigation matter, demonstrating your ability to think several steps ahead, much like playing "three-dimensional chess." Whether as part of a project team or collaborating with external counsel, you drive outcomes that protect and propel the business forward.

Qualifications:
- Undergraduate and Law degrees with active membership in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario (mandatory). Membership in additional Canadian jurisdictions is a plus.
- 5+ years of legal practice and experience in high-volume environments with a strong regional player or top-tier law firm is preferred.
- Extensive experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, master services and vendor agreements, non-disclosure agreements, and more.
- Experience in industries such as restoration, construction, and other regulated sectors.
- Strong understanding of liability and risk management matters.
- Proven ability to lead and manage high-level projects, including strategic legal initiatives that involve "three-dimensional chess" complexity.
- Excellent strategic thinking with a capacity to resolve sensitive and multifaceted legal issues while focusing on the bigger picture.
- Exceptional communication skills with a collaborative and approachable style, able to confidently engage with executives and stakeholders at all levels.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain business relationships across borders, with cultural sensitivity and professionalism.
- Self-motivated and quality-driven, with a proven ability to excel in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
- Strong commitment to delivering results while managing competing demands effectively.
