About the role:
DMCL is seeking an experienced and driven US Corporate Tax Manager to join our growing US Tax practice. Reporting directly to the Lead Partner, Jay Park, this role is an exciting opportunity to help expand and build out the firms US Corporate Tax division, working with owner-managed businesses looking to expand into the US market.
The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise in US corporate tax, a proactive mindset, and a passion for mentoring staff and shaping the teams success. With a focus on delivering exceptional client service, you will be entrusted with autonomy over managing files and creating processes to drive the success of the division.
As a US Corporate Tax Manager, your key responsibilities will include:
- Oversee the US corporate tax compliance requirements for a diverse portfolio of owner-managed businesses.
- Respond to inquiries and requests from the IRS and state tax authorities.
- Work closely with the Cross-Border Personal/Expat Tax team to provide corporate tax insights on personal and estate planning matters.
- Mentor and supervise junior staff, providing training and development opportunities.
- Build and foster strong client relationships, ensuring excellent service delivery while identifying business development opportunities.
- Conduct research on US corporate tax issues, implement tax minimization strategies, and participate in special tax projects.
- Leadership in Practice Management:
- Take charge of WIP (work in progress), profitability, and fee monitoring to ensure projects remain on track and within budget.
- Delegate work efficiently, ensuring that tasks are appropriately assigned based on complexity and team skill levels.
- Communicate proactively with internal teams and clients to complete compliance projects on time and effectively.
- Drive adherence to new processes and procedures, such as timesheet reviews and control sheets.

Who you are:
- A CPA designation with at least 3 years of experience in US corporate tax and at least 1 year as a Manager
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- An innovative approach to practice and team management, with excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- A genuine interest for mentoring and developing junior staff.
