Reporting to the Planer Superintendent, the Planer Supervisor will provide leadership, training, and professional development to hourly personnel by championing our safety program, and managing the process flow and resources to meet and exceed established key performance indicators.

You'll Do:

• Making the safety of your team a business priority by meeting all leading indicators and being directly involved in the safety program
• Safety management, including orientation, training, worker observations, identifying and correcting safety hazards, accident and near-miss investigations, emergency protection systems, and site audits
• Achieving quality and production KPIs and striving for operational excellence
• Work with operations to improve reliability and maximize equipment availability at the lowest cost to the mill through involvement and understanding of the business.
• Training and developing every member of your planer crew
• Effectively communicating goals and expectations with all employees in the planer, kilns, and lumber yard

You have:

• Minimum of 1 year of proven leadership, vision, dedication & ability to mentor a team in a chargehand role or higher
• AFPA lumber grading certificate or willingness to acquire at the earliest opportunity
• Excellent communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills – conflict management, coaching, supportive feedback, and problem-solving
• Strong mechanical and technical knowledge
• Must be computer literate, including a strong background in MS Office
• Strong Organizational and Leadership Skills
• Detail and results-oriented

Compensation Package:

• The salary for this position may vary depending on experience, education, and location.
