We are looking for a Coordinator, Billings to join our team. As a key member of the Billings team, you will be reporting to the Team Leader, Billings. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate preparation of invoices.
Scope of Responsibilities:
- Coordinate all stages of the billing process including maintaining relationships with legal assistants to initiate billing, as well as address bill processing requests
- Review and process bills to ensure all bills are recorded on a timely and accurate basis
- Process invoices on e-billing platforms including, but not limited to, uploading rates, budgets and files
- Troubleshoot and resolve e-billing issues
- Ensure billings related issues are addressed promptly
- Ensure compliance with firm approval policies and procedures
- Process and scan prebills
- Process time and cost transfers
- Help legal assistants with billing enquiries
- Provide back up in preparing a variety of reports
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- University/college in accounting related field preferred
- 3+ years previous experience performing in a similar role required
- Experience in professional services environment an asset
- Accounting software skill; Excel skills and knowledge of SQL is an asset
- Good understanding of basic accounting principles as they relate to billing, time and costs, and accounts receivables
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent problem solving skills
- Excellent client service with an aptitude to build and maintain client relationships;
- Ability to meet tight deadlines, work well under pressure and prioritize work;
- Discretion, confidentiality and attention to detail are essential
- A team player who takes initiative and works well independently
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills
- Demonstrates excellent client service and ability to anticipate client needs
