The Opportunity:
We're looking for a Linux System Administrator to join our IT Team.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Data Center and Cloud Operations the Linux System Administrator is responsible for managing and maintaining Linux-based systems, enhancing cloud infrastructure, automating various processes, and managing APIs to ensure efficient and secure operations. This skilled role requires expertise in cloud environments, automation, and API management.

What your day looks like:
- Manage and maintain Linux-based systems, ensuring their stability, security, and performance
- Provision, configure, and monitor cloud services to support business operations
- Automate routine tasks and processes using scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or PowerShell
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to system performance, connectivity, and security
- Implement and manage backup, restore, and disaster recovery solutions for cloud and on-premises environments
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate infrastructure components into existing processes and procedures
- Ensure compliance with security policies and best practices for both cloud and on-premises environments
- Provide support for servers, Active Directory, and other enterprise data center components
- Monitor system performance and optimize resource usage to ensure high availability and reliability
- Design scalable cloud architectures leveraging infrastructure-as-code and robust disaster recovery practices
- Execute daily cloud support operational activities, including incident management, problem management, change management, and disaster recovery
- Proactively enhance monitoring, optimize performance, implement logging/alerting, and lead cost-saving initiatives
- Manage and maintain API gateways and related infrastructure
- Develop, deploy, and monitor APIs to ensure they meet performance and security standards
- Collaborate with development teams to integrate APIs into applications and services
Requirements
Your experience and skills:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience in managing Linux-based systems and cloud environments
- Strong knowledge of cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools like Azure Bicep or Terraform
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or PowerShell
- Knowledge of network protocols and services, including DNS, DHCP, SMTP, SNMP, SSH, and SFTP
- Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware
- Strong understanding of security best practices and compliance requirements
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Fluent communication skills in English are required and bilingual skills in French are an asset
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications related to cloud environments, such as Azure Solutions Architect, or AWS Certified Solutions Architect
- Experience with automation and configuration management tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef
- Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and Azure DevOps practices
- Experience with API management platforms and tools
Work Environment:
- This position requires the ability to work independently with minimal supervision and availability to work night and weekend hours on occasion as required

Salary
This position is posted with an expected salary range of $95,000 - $120,000 CAD annually. Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate and the requirements of the position.
