The Product Specialist- Commercial Auto role is responsible to support and direct the product and pricing initiatives under the leadership of the product and pricing manager. The role supports the completion of underwriting filings and IRCA manuals as required. They conduct consumer research to understand the needs of consumers for product development initiatives as directed by the product and pricing manager and act as a subject matter expert for any system enhancements. They work with the Business Insights Manager to monitor the performance of the portfolio against the operational plan and report findings to the Product and Pricing Manager to inform strategic product and pricing initiatives. They support the preparation and delivery of stakeholder communications, work closely with the actuarial team for pricing selections and support the technology team for system improvements.

What will you do?

• analyze product and rate reviews to ensure competitiveness and ensure appropriate premiums charged working closely with the actuarial and the business insight teams
• monitor industry trends and product performance, including legislation and regulation changes, and coordinate any required changes through participation in presentations to senior leadership
• participate in the development and presentation of training programs to variety of audiences
• contribute to systems projects as a products subject matter expert
• conduct quality reviews on product and pricing changes and enhancements through benefit tracking analysis
• document and maintain competitive industry information
• support and assist with the completion of underwriting fillings and manuals with the regulatory bodies as required

What will you need to succeed?

• 5 years Insurance Industry Experience (3 years focused on Commercial Auto (IRCA / Fleet / Garage)
• CIP designation or working towards
• Post secondary education
• Analytical and problem solving skills
• Proficiency in Commercial Auto Underwriting Profitability
• Experience working with auto filings an asset
• Project Management and System Development and Asset
• Excellent communication, decision making, and critical thinking skills

Location: We're a hybrid team that thrives on the energy and value of in-office collaboration. This role offers the best of both worlds, with 2 days a week spent in our vibrant office in Cambridge Ontario or Toronto (Tuesdays and Thursdays).
