Our client is looking for a contract Observability Engineer who will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining observability solutions to ensure the reliability, performance, and scalability of our systems. You will work closely with development, operations, and security teams to build and enhance monitoring, event management, logging, and tracing capabilities. This is a 6 month contract to start.

Key Responsibilities

•Develop and maintain observability tools and platforms, including monitoring, logging, and tracing systems

•Implement and manage dashboards, alerts, and automated responses to system events

•Collaborate with development teams to integrate observability best practices into the software development lifecycle

•Analyze system performance and reliability data to identify and resolve issues proactively

•Conduct root cause analysis of incidents and implement measures to prevent recurrence

•Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies in observability and monitoring

•Provide training and support to teams on observability tools and practices

Qualifications

•Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field

•Proven experience in observability, monitoring, and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Jaeger)

•Strong understanding of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes)

•Proficiency in scripting and automation (e.g., Python, Bash)

•Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

•Strong communication and collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications

•Experience with infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform, Ansible)

•Experience with Datadog, Dynatrace, New Relic or AppDynamics observability platforms

•Experience with Event Management / Event Intelligence / AIOps platforms

•Knowledge of security best practices in observability

•Familiarity with CI-CD pipelines and DevOps practices
