GVF is looking for aAnimal Nutrition Customer Service Representativeto join our team in Cambridge, Ontario! As a key part of our order desk customer service team, you will provide front-line service to our customers by managing all incoming orders with professionalism, efficiency, and the highest level of quality and care. This role is responsible for efficiently and professionally responding to all incoming orders and calls while maintaining a high level of quality and customer service. A high degree of accuracy as well as strong product knowledge while processing orders is essential. Some sales support will be required in the area of up selling or assisting Sales Specialists with any customer requests

Working with us:

This is a permanent, full-time position operating out of our production facility at 486 Main Street, Cambridge, Ontario. Your regular working hours for this position are Monday to Friday 8:30am-5:30pm with a one-hour unpaid lunch break. Given the nature of this of this position there may be times where you will be required to work outside of these standard hours to meet the needs of the business.

What youll do:

  • Connect with customers interested in placing an order, via phone, email, text, or walk-in.
  • Assess and uncover customer needs which includes researching and verifying their purchase history, promoting relevant products and product lines, and cross-selling where needed to ensure the customer has everything they need.
  • Provide a high level of service using strong product knowledge.
  • Process orders using our Feed Mill Manager software, with a high degree of care and accuracy.
  • Process and coordinate order corrections as needed (i.e. returns and/or credits of good).
  • Provide support to our sales team as needed (upselling and promoting new product lines, assisting with special requests, etc.).
  • Document customer complaints and follow up in a timely manner.

Your background includes:

  • Bachelors degree or diploma in agriculture, animal nutrition, science, business or a similar field
  • 3+ years of working experience in an inside sales or customer service focused role
  • Experience within the agriculture industry is an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal and oral and written communication skills
  • Technologically savvy and proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multitask and cooperatively work with a variety of departments
