Position Overview:
We are seeking a Project Engineer to oversee and contribute to industrial design, technical analysis, and resolution of engineering problems. The role involves both discipline-specific engineering and broader project engineering responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in consulting, Oil & Gas, and processing facilities, and a focus on providing engineering solutions that drive project success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality, innovative engineering solutions for clients, specializing in processing facilities (gas plants, refineries, compressor stations, fractionation plants, etc.).
- Develop piping specifications, select materials, and specify mechanical equipment.
- Participate in FEED and detailed design phases of projects.
- Ensure compliance with ASME B31.3, and other applicable industry codes and standards.
- Develop engineering documentation, including Design Basis Memorandums, Construction Work Packages, and engineering calculations.
- Develop and review engineering drawings such as general arrangements, isometrics, P&IDs, and site-specific plans.
- Manage project scope, schedules, and budgets, ensuring projects stay on track.
- Provide technical support during construction.
- Collaborate with other disciplines, project managers, and clients to meet project goals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering or a similar field.
- P.Eng designation or eligibility for registration with EGBC or APEGA.
- 6-15 years of total experience, including 3-5 years as a Project Engineer and 3-5 years in a technical engineering role.
- 3-5 years of consulting experience and Oil & Gas industry background, specifically in processing facilities.
- Expertise in ASME B31.3 and mechanical equipment specification.
- Experience in FEED and detailed design.
- Hydrogen project experience and exposure to major projects is an asset.
