Our Client, Knar Jewellery, is looking for a full-time, permanent Bookkeeper to join their Guelph location! As a valuable member of the Knar team, the Bookkeeper is responsible for collaboratively contributing to store operations by ensuring that all day-to-date financial data is accurate and maintained. We are looking for someone who likes variety, shows initiative and is willing to go the extra mile to support our vendors and internal clients.
This is an onsite position, 9:00am to 5:00pm, Monday to Friday.

Knar is an official authorized dealer for some of the worlds most prestigious brands including Rolex, Tudor, Chopard, Hearts on Fire, Mikimoto, and many more. In addition to offering high end, luxurious brands, we also specialize in custom design, repairs, restorations, and appraisals.
In everything we do, we hold ourselves to the highest of standards. Reporting to the Director of Finance, the successful candidate will have good knowledge of how POS systems affect the bookkeeping of sales, cost of goods, and inventory transactions, safeguarding the accurate recording of all elements. The Bookkeeper is the gateway for recording of all financial transactions and thus must understand the impact of their decisions. They must work collaboratively with our inventory department and our three stores to ensure proper and accurate recording.
Responsibilities
FINANCIAL
- Accurately records day to day financial transactions by entering bills, credits, and credit card charges.
- Enters and adjusts day end cash reports in a timely manner and ensures cash is deposited.
- Manages all vendor terms, matching and reconciling broker-related invoices and required reporting.
- Utilizes QuickBooks for monitoring and reconciling internal balance sheet and expense accounts and credit card statements.
- Posts journal entries as required to ensure timely management of clearing accounts.
- Contributes to weekly and month end reporting and tasks.
PEOPLE
- Works collaboratively with accounting department staff, management and store colleagues to ensure service excellence and accurate reporting.
- Contributes to a positive work environment through all internal and external dealings.
COMMUNICATION
- Consistent and professional use of email for communication both for internal and external relationships.
- Engages and participates in daily and ongoing departmental meetings.
- Collaboratively resolves accounting issues.
OPERATIONS & ADMINISTRATION
- Uses technology to enhance accounting processes.
- Maintains electronic and paper records according to standards and protocols.
- Assists with entering and managing Knar expense accounts.
- Responsible for monitoring and reconciling petty cash accounts for all locations.
- Understands and is able to effectively use Knar Store Operation Software.
Skills and Qualifications
- A minimum of 3 years Bookkeeping experience, including accounts payable, reconciliation, and experience analyzing financial statements.
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Bookkeeping or Accounting education an asset.
- Understanding of customs and duties and HST.
- Experience in using accounting software i.e. QuickBooks.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of programs.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organization and time management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
