Senior Steel Estimator

Reporting to: Sales Manager

Key Responsibilities

• Produce Proposals and Budgets for Structural Steel and Miscellaneous Metals
• Process Solicitation Documents, Plans, Specifications, Addenda
• Perform Takeoffs for Structural Steel and Miscellaneous Metals
• Request and Collect Quotes from Vendors and Subcontractors, as required
• Participate in Handoff Meetings with Project Team
• Interact with Clients, Suppliers
• Generate Reports for Bid Review Meetings

The Ideal Candidate Will:

• Have 3-5 Years of Estimating Experience in the Steel Industry
• Be Very Comfortable Reading Through Drawings and Specifications
• Have Intermediate Computer and Typing Skills
• Use their Strong Communication Skills to Produce Clear, Concise Emails and Proposals
• Demonstrate a Hunger to Learn and Grow
• Not be Afraid to Ask Questions
• Act as a Brand Ambassador, Demonstrating our Companys Core Values
• Have Strong Mathematical and Analytical Skills
• Be Methodical and Detail-Oriented

Assets

• Experience Using Tekla Powerfab or Other Steel Software
• Experience Using Bluebeam or Other Takeoff Software
• Steel Fabrication and/or Erection Experience
• Diploma in Construction Management or Civil Engineering
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
