Our Long-Stay Residential Treatment Facility provides people who have been hospitalized with an opportunity to live in the community by providing a housing option that balances their need for support with as much independence as possible in a community setting. As a member of this team, you will support individuals with their physical and mental health/addiction support needs by providing personal care, teaching life skills and coping strategies. Police Vulnerable Sector Check Requirements
Successful candidates must have a Police Vulnerable Sector Check completed in the last six months. Interested applicants who reside in the City of London and are in need of a Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) are encouraged to apply for one as soon as possible as PVSCs in the City of London are currently taking approximately 2 weeks to be processed and offers of employment cannot be made without receipt of a PVSC.

WHAT WE'RE OFFERING:
- What you'll be making: Starting rate for this role is $26.74 per hour (Level 1 – Direct Service), with a wage differential, based on regulation ($29.57 per hour for Level 1 – Direct Service, Regulated):
- Successful candidates who are registered with one of the designated professional colleges (e.g. OCSWSSW, CNO, COTO, CRPO, CPSO, or CPO) will receive the wage differential for regulation
- Successful external applicants will start at Level 1, with grid progression based on seniority up to Level 8 ($33.90 per hour for non-regulated, and $36.71 per hour for regulated)
- For internal applicants, grid level placement will occur as per the Collective Agreement
- When you'll work - 70 hours biweekly; 10-hour overnight shifts, including alternating weekends
- Your pension plan – Immediate enrolment in the Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP)
- What your benefits will be - After a 90-day waiting period will be enrolled in Extended Healthcare Benefits
- Assess individuals' strengths, needs, abilities and preferences
- Assist and motivate individuals to identify and work towards achievement of their goals
- Medication administration, medication education, and monitoring; support clients with medication routines in coordination with clinical team
- Assist and coach individuals in the learning and management/achievement of activities of daily living such as personal hygiene, chores, socialization, etc.
- Provide health teaching about mental illness and symptom management
- Coordinate recreational community outings and activities to enhance quality of life and further connect individuals to their community
- Assist clients to maintain good personal hygiene which may include but is not limited to bathing, dressing, and continence care
- Work with clients and provide one-on-one care such as assisting with personal care, meal preparation, and housekeeping duties
- Assist clients with ambulation, positioning, and as necessary and with appropriate training, provide safe lifts and transfers
Police Vulnerable Sector Check Requirements

We require the following qualifications:
- Diploma or degree in a social service field is preferred, with strong preference for education as Personal Support Worker, Developmental Service Worker, or Registered Practical Nurse (Primary proof of credentials will be required during the hiring process, i.e. original degree/diploma/certificate or official transcript)
- Valid Driver's License
- Access to a vehicle and insurance adequate for transporting clients
- Demonstrated ability to attend work regularly
- Minimum of one year of work experience in the mental health field
- Personal support work experience
- First Aid / CPR
- Knowledge of Psychosocial Rehabilitation
- Experience working in a residence setting
- Knowledge of psychiatric medications
- Knowledge of community resources
- Knowledge of computerized documentation methods
- Crisis intervention and prevention training
- Applied Suicide Interventions Skills and Training
- Safe Food Handling
