Job Summary

Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Senior Financial Analyst will play a key role in supporting the annual business planning process, monthly performance reporting and forecasting. The ideal candidate will take the lead in budget analysis, performance reporting, and forecasting, providing financial analytical support to both the finance team and business area leaders across Atura Power. This role will involve providing timely strategic decision-making support, conducting proactive analysis of business opportunities and risks, and offering financial guidance to help the company meet its objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and present comprehensive management reports using financial systems and various data sources, while assisting business managers in analyzing and interpreting financial and operational results to drive decision-making.
  • Provide expert advice, guidance, and support to business managers on all aspects of business planning, budgeting, financial reporting, performance forecasting, and internal controls, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
  • Lead and manage the coordination of the annual budgeting process, collaborating closely with department heads, plant managers, and other key stakeholders to develop and finalize the companys business plan.
  • Monitor and assess business developments throughout the year, providing timely updates and adjustments to financial forecasts, ensuring accuracy in predicting business performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement in financial reporting systems, including recommending and supporting system changes in Microsoft Dynamics or Maximo to automate processes, improve efficiency, and enhance reporting quality.
  • Proactively identify areas for financial performance improvement across the business, presenting actionable insights and recommendations to management.
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis and special projects as required to support business initiatives and provide financial insights to senior leadership.

Qualifications & Education

  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (or equivalent education).
  • CPA, CA, or equivalent accounting designation required.
  • 58 years of directly related experience in financial planning and analysis, with a strong focus on budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Proven analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement in financial processes and business performance.
  • Solid understanding of US GAAP and/or IFRS accounting standards.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with and gather requirements from various stakeholders across the organization.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial modelling, analysis, and reporting.
  • High proficiency in preparing clear and engaging presentation slides (e.g., PowerPoint) to communicate financial insights and recommendations to senior leadership and other stakeholders.
  • Experience in data analysis and reporting, including creating dashboards and reports using Power BI or similar tools is an asset.
  • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate findings and recommendations, both orally and in writing.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics and Maximo is an asset.
  • Experience working in the energy, utilities, or manufacturing industries is highly preferred.
